Job summary

PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. in the BC Region – Kelowna office is seeking an Engineering Student to gain hands-on experience on real projects.

You will coordinate drawings, review trade quantities and participate in meetings while supporting field activities. The role includes drafting, scheduling with Primavera P6 and AutoCAD, and upkeep of project records.

Qualifications

• Desire to work in a construction environment.
• Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating drawings and work scope/trades/sub-trades.
• Conduction of trade quote reviews by verifying material quantities, hours and rates.
• Participation in project meetings.
• Completion of deficiency walks and updating deficiency logs.
• Issuing warranties.
• Takes/coordinates progress photos.
• Updates field drawings and produces as-built drawings.
• Performance of quantity takeoffs.
• Verification of site conditions and coordination of drawings.
• Set-up and maintenance of records.
• Project schedule updates and creation of manual schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM.
• Creating and maintaining graphical scheduling using AutoCAD.
• Monitoring workforce productivity.

Qualifications

• Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
• Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.

Pay Range: $22.26-$27.30

PCL Student wages are determined individually for each student based on the number of completed school terms, relevant work terms, kind of role and work location.
