PCL Constructors Westcoast Inc. in Richmond, BC is seeking a Virtual Construction Student for the BC Region. This internship runs 4–12 months starting January 2027 and reports to the Manager, Integrated Construction Technology. The role focuses on developing plan visuals, model coordination, and adopting virtual construction tools across project teams.

The candidate should be enrolled in a related degree, have working knowledge of Revit, and possess strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or pursuing a relevant degree in architecture, construction management, or related AEC field.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit.

Responsibilities

• Assist field team in developing plan visuals for schedules and site logistics.
• Create tower crane and hoist drawings (plans, elevations, sections).
• Support model coordination and clash detection using Revizto.
• Process laser scan data and work with survey outputs.
• Build and update virtual construction models from drawings.
• Aid site logistics modelling and trade-partner coordination.
• Assist with model updates, submissions and document control.
• Promote use of virtual construction tools across teams.
• Attend and contribute to project or coordination meetings.

Responsibilities

• Assist field team in developing key plan visuals for construction schedules and site logistics: site safety, access, trailers, temporary power, hoists, crane swing, and demolition.
• Generate tower crane and man/material hoist working drawings (plans, elevations, sections).
• Support model coordination and clash detection using Revizto or equivalent platforms.
• Process and analyze laser scan data, point cloud registration, working with survey team outputs.
• Build and update virtual construction models from plans, specs, and elevations under supervision.
• Aid in site logistics modeling and trade-partner model coordination.
• Assist with model updates, submissions, and document control as needed.
• Promote adoption of virtual construction tools across project teams.
• Attend and contribute to project or coordination meetings

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or pursuing a degree or diploma in architecture, architectural technology, construction management, civil engineering, or a related AEC discipline.
• Working knowledge of Autodesk Revit.
• Detail oriented with strong organizational, verbal, and written communication abilities.
• Eager to learn, innovative, and adaptable to new technology trends and processes.
• Able to manage multiple, competing tasks with attention to detail.
• Collaborative and team-oriented, capable of building positive relationships with project stakeholders.
• Proactive problem-solver with strong communication and time-management skills.

Pay Range: $20.14-$24.70

PCL Student wages are determined individually for each student based on the number of completed school terms, relevant work terms, kind of role and work location.
