Job summary

Perimeter Aviation LP is seeking an Engineering/Repair Coordinator to act as the primary liaison between the AMO, manufacturer engineering teams, and DARs. You will ensure damage is documented and supported with approved repair data in compliance with regulatory and airworthiness requirements.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate multiple repair requests while maintaining thorough records and supporting audits.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as main liaison between crew chiefs, team leads, ACAs and engineering teams for repair approvals.
  • Coordinate with DARs to obtain approved repair schemes when OEM data is unavailable.
  • Review and submit detailed damage reports with photos and measurements.
  • Interpret and communicate repair instructions to maintenance teams.
  • Ensure repairs are supported by approved data (SRMs, orders, DARs).
  • Track repair requests to minimize aircraft downtime and support AOG as needed.
  • Maintain records of engineering correspondence and approvals.
  • Verify regulatory compliance (Transport Canada, FAA, EASA).
  • Assist in developing repair packages and shop work instructions.
  • Support audits with traceability and compliance.

Job description

Position Summary

Reporting to the Heavy Production Manager, the Engineering/Repair Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, acting as the primary liaison between the Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO), manufacturer engineering departments, and Design Approval Representatives (DARs). This role ensures that aircraft damage is properly assessed, documented and supported with approved repair data in compliance with regulatory and airworthiness requirements.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Serve as the main point of contact between the Crew Chiefs, Team Leads, ACAs and manufacturer engineering teams for repair approvals and technical support
  • Coordinate with DARs to obtain approved repair schemes when OEM data is not available
  • Review, compile and submit detailed damage reports including photos, measurements and inspection findings
  • Interpret and communicate engineering repair instructions to maintenance teams
  • Ensure all repairs are supported by approved data (SRMs, engineering orders, or DAR approvals)
  • Track and follow up on repair requests to minimize aircraft downtime (AOG support when required)
  • Maintain organized records of all engineering correspondence, approvals, and repair documentation
  • Verify compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., Transport Canada, FAA, EASA as applicable)
  • Assist in developing repair packages and work instructions for shop personnel
  • Support audits by ensuring documentation traceability and compliance
  • Support management in the application of the training program requirements
  • Collaborate with Quality and Production teams to ensure repairs are executed correctly
  • Actively participate in the Company’s Safety Management System
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications
  • Diploma or degree in Aerospace Engineering, Aircraft Maintenance, or related field
  • Previous experience in an AMO, MRO, or airline maintenance environment
  • Strong understanding of aircraft structures, repairs, and maintenance documentation
  • Familiarity with SRMs, engineering orders, and approved data requirements
  • Knowledge of regulatory standards (e.g., Transport Canada CARs, FAA, EASA)
  • Excellent communication skills for coordinating with external engineering authorities
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple repair requests under time-sensitive conditionsPreferred qualifications
  • Experience working directly with OEM engineering teams or DARs
  • Knowledge of structural repair processes (metallic and/or composite)
  • Familiarity with AOG (Aircraft on Ground) response coordination
  • Experience with maintenance tracking systems or ERP software
  • The ability to work independently and contribute to a diverse team.
  • High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
  • Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
Working Conditions
  • Based in an AMO facility with frequent interaction on the hangar floor
  • Fast-paced environment with time-critical repair coordination
  • Occasional need to support off-hours or urgent AOG situations
  • Physically able to perform all listed job duties
  • Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
  • Work in a shop environment with full range of movement including, but not limited to, bending, sitting, standing, lifting to a maximum of 50lbs, pushing and pulling daily
