Job summary

Giffen Consulting Ltd. is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a growing team servicing the Maritimes. The role starts as a remote arrangement from St.

John’s, NL, with eventual transition to a hybrid office-based position once established. Travel to client sites will be required across mining, utilities, and heavy industrial projects. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering projects from initiation to close-out, mentor teams, and shape growth in the region.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of progressive experience in a multidisciplinary engineering environment (EPC, EPCM, IPD, etc.).
• Experience with complex projects valued from $500K to $10M.
• Extensive knowledge of the engineering design phase of projects.
• Familiar with greenfield and brownfield mining/heavy industrial projects.
• Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and codes of practice.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop strong client relationships throughout the project lifecycle, including close-out.
• Identify, document, and communicate client requirements while effectively managing multiple stakeholders.
• Proactively resolve performance, scope, cost, and schedule issues with the Client as they arise.
• Ensure projects are managed in accordance with contract terms and conditions.
• Clearly define project scope and ensure compliance with contract requirements.
• Manage change and project interfaces while monitoring performance to identify and mitigate issues early.
• Oversee all project scope elements, manage design, support procurement, and construction activities to align with the project schedule.
• Support proposals and cost estimates.
• Collaborate with the Project Services Team to establish cost reports, forecasting, approvals, trend identification, and cost-saving opportunities.
• Define project quality requirements.
• Support developing a project schedule that allows work to be executed efficiently while ensuring compliance with Company policies and procedures.
• Provide clear and focused leadership to the project team, creating a vision for success and a strategy to achieve key milestones and objectives.
• Ensure accurate and timely progress reporting to both the client and internal teams.
