Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited Canadian university.
• Registered as a Professional Engineer in Canada (P.Eng.).
• 4+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer on mining, heavy industrial projects.
• Familiar with ASME and CSA codes, industry standards and regulations.
• Experience in selection and sizing for rotating equipment, pumps, boxes and chutes, conveyors, HVAC, and fire protection.

Responsibilities

• Execute mechanical engineering deliverables on mining/heavy industrial projects.
• Complete calculations to support project deliverables.
• Select and size mechanical equipment.
• Prepare or check equipment data sheets, MELs, valve lists, and line lists.
• Check and seal drawing packages.
• Write or review technical reports and construction specifications.
• Provide project deliverables as per project schedule.
• Coordinate across disciplines and departments for design and inspection.
• Troubleshoot mechanical systems for mine sites and heavy facilities.
• Support cost estimating with reviews of project deliverables.
• Present project designs and progress updates to clients and stakeholders.
• Travel to site visits as required.
