Job summary

GEMTEC Consulting Engineers and Scientists Limited. is seeking a Senior Mining Services Consultant based in our St. John’s, NL office (Mount Pearl). You will work with professionals across the mining space on meaningful projects, supporting mine rehabilitation, project management, and regulatory processes.

The role emphasizes leadership, mentorship, and business development within a sustainable, employee-owned firm across Atlantic Canada. A strong writing and regulatory background is essential.

Qualifications

• P.Geo or P.Eng designation preferred, P. Tech may be considered or a combination of equivalent education and experience
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Canadian Mining Industry across applicable sectors, preferably within Newfoundland and Labrador
• Strong technical writing skills
• Aptitude for problem solving and time management
• Knowledge of provincial regulatory systems within the mining and quarrying spaces
• Experience with detailed project management, budgeting, scheduling, leading field personnel, and technical expertise
• Project management experience is preferred
• Completion of an undergraduate degree in geosciences, engineering or a related field
• Previous experience in mining consulting would be an asset
• Must have a valid driver’s license

We currently have an opening for a permanent full-time Senior Mining Services Consultant based in our St. John’s, NL office (Mount Pearl). In this role, you’ll work with talented professionals across the mining space in the province, work on meaningful projects, engage with the pillars of the Newfoundland and Labrador mining community and help sustain GEMTEC’s well regarded place in the industry.
