Job summary

WSP in Canada is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams, shape projects and communities, and deliver innovative engineering solutions across the EPC/EPCM lifecycle.

In the ERI Resources subsector, you will ensure quality documentation, guide decisions on complex issues, manage resources and budgets, and report progress to stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; Chemical, Mining or Mechanical preferred.
  • P.Eng status in a Canadian province.
  • 15 years of relevant experience, including leadership and supervision.
  • Broad experience in the execution of multi-discipline engineering on large/EPCM lifecycle projects, including field engineering.
  • Experience with NI 43-101 or SK1300 is asset.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation and quality of all technical project documentation.
  • Provide guidance on complex engineering issues.
  • Ensure engineering work aligns with WSP processes, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Promote innovation, collaboration, client focus, and continuous improvement.
  • Support project engineering planning, scheduling, and deliverable definition.
  • Allocate and oversee engineering resources to meet project needs.
  • Monitor performance, productivity, and budget adherence; address issues proactively.
  • Improve engineering tools, processes, and overall efficiency.
  • Produce regular progress reports and maintain strong stakeholder communication.
  • Oversee field engineering and maintain alignment with client and discipline leads.
  • Track and document continuous improvement opportunities.

Our Resources subsector within WSP’s Energy, Resources & Industry (ERI) group supports industrial and mining clients across Canada. For decades, our experts have delivered economic studies, project management, detailed engineering, procurement, site management, commissioning, programming, and full EPCM execution across a wide range of heavy industrial environments.

The Skills That Set You Apart
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering; Chemical, Mining or Mechanical preferred.
  • P.Eng status in any Canadian province.
  • 15 years relevant experience including experience in leadership and supervisory roles. Experience in
  • Must possess broad experience in the execution of multi-discipline engineering work on large / complex projects across the complete EPC/EPCM lifecycle,

including field engineering experience.

  • Experience with managing the development of a NI 43-101 or SK1300 an asset
  • Demonstrate the implementation of innovative approaches to engineering execution in past roles

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $122,900 – $162,800

MB & ON: $112,100 – $154,400

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $104,500 – $140,700
