Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead multidisciplinary teams on mining and metals EPC and EPCM projects in Canada. You will be the primary interface between Engineering and Project Management, Procurement, Contracts, Construction and Client teams, guiding execution strategies and engineering procedures to ensure safety, quality, cost and schedule alignment.

You will drive collaboration with Discipline Leads to staff projects with qualified personnel and support

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent required.
• Professional Engineer designation or eligibility preferred.
• 12+ years of relevant industry experience in mining, minerals processing, or heavy industrial projects.
• Proven leadership in Project Engineering Lead or Engineering Management roles.
• Strong understanding of EPC/EPCM project delivery, safety, quality, cost, and schedule focus.

• Support engineering reviews and ensure compliance with standards and objectives.

Responsibilities:

• Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams on mining and metals EPC and EPCM projects, ensuring successful execution of project objectives.
• Serve as the primary interface between Engineering and other project functions including Project Management, Project Controls, Procurement, Contracts, Construction, and Client teams.
• Provide leadership in the development and implementation of project execution strategies and engineering procedures.
• Drive the application of cost-competitive execution practices to deliver efficient and effective engineering solutions.
• Ensure engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with project schedules, quality requirements, budget targets, and established procedures.
• Monitor engineering performance and proactively manage scope changes, risks, and issues impacting project execution.
• Collaborate with Discipline Leads and Department Managers to ensure project teams are appropriately staffed with qualified personnel.
• Support engineering review processes and maintain compliance with company standards, client requirements, and project objectives.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence.
• Perform additional tasks as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or equivalent) plus 12+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Professional Engineering designation or eligibility is preferred.
• Previous experience serving in a Project Engineering Lead or Engineering Management capacity.
• Proven experience leading engineering teams on mining, minerals processing, or heavy industrial projects.
• Strong understanding of EPC and EPCM project delivery environments.
• Demonstrated ability to manage project execution with a focus on safety, quality, cost, and schedule performance.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate strategic objectives into practical project execution plans.
• Strong business acumen, customer focus, and commitment to project success.
• Active participation in professional engineering organizations is considered an asset.
