Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions is currently seeking a Project Engineer to join our client's team in Vancouver, BC. This role will support the planning, coordination, and execution of engineering and project management activities on major industrial and mining projects.

The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with project requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering or project experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, vendors, and project teams.
• Strong organizational, planning, and coordination abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management software.
• Ability to work independently while contributing within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of project procedures, administrative activities, project controls, and engineering tasks in accordance with project requirements and contractual obligations.
• Assist with project planning, execution, monitoring, and reporting activities.
• Participate in project risk assessments and support project risk management processes.
• Monitor project progress and assist in identifying and resolving project issues.
• Coordinate activities between engineering disciplines, procurement, construction, vendors, and stakeholders.
• Support the development and maintenance of project schedules, staffing plans, budgets, and resource forecasts.
• Coordinate project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.
• Assist with project communications, progress reporting, meeting coordination, and documentation.
• Support project scope, cost, and schedule management activities.
• Interface with clients, contractors, licensors, suppliers, and internal project teams.
• Participate in project reviews and design reviews.
• Support maintenance of project records and project closeout activities.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, quality, and sustainability requirements.
• Travel as required to support project activities.

Basic Job Requirements

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience within an Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction (EPFC) or Construction Management environment.
• Experience supporting mining, metals, industrial, infrastructure, or heavy industrial projects.
• Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility is considered an asset.
• PMP or other project management certification is considered an asset.
• Strong technical writing and reporting skills.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain productive relationships with clients and project stakeholders.
• Proven ability to adapt to changing project requirements while maintaining a high standard of performance.
