Job summary

DoorDash is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the Merchant Financials engineering team responsible for building financial products like loans, capital, and instant pay for millions of merchants on the DoorDash platform.

You will guide backend, web, and mobile engineers, partner with product and operations, and help define a roadmap to scale our financial product portfolio, including launching a brand-new banking app.

Qualifications

• Requires BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• 2+ years of people management leading full-stack teams (8+ engineers).
• 8+ years of industry experience.
• Extensive experience as an engineer in fast-paced, product-focused environments.
• Experience with distributed systems design, scaling, and performance optimization.
• Hands-on leadership and strong product intuition.
• Humility and willingness to dive into details and accept feedback.
• Growth mindset and eagerness to expand skills in a hyper-growth setting.
• Adaptability and resilience in ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of backend and client-side engineers delivering end-to-end solutions.
