Job summary

Thomson Reuters in Toronto, Canada, seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead the Customer Files Orchestration Service team. You will own end-to-end orchestration—from upload to indexing—and drive API-first execution, robust observability, and scalable pipelines enabling agents and human users.

You will shape a cross-functional group, recruit and develop engineers, and establish operating rhythms and SLOs to ensure reliability and performance at scale.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in software engineering with 3+ years in people management.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale enterprise orchestration systems.
• Extensive AWS and production Python experience.
• Knowledge of concurrency, Python GIL, and asyncio.
• Experience with Kubernetes-based workloads and auto scaling.
• Strong API-first, versioned contracts and product-minded mindset.
• Excellent communication for cross-team alignment.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end customer file orchestration service, balancing new features with reliability.
• Lead API-first execution with versioned contracts and documented behavior.
• Define operating rhythms and drive roadmaps with stakeholders.
• Build and lead the Files Orchestration team with strong career development.
