Remote People Ltd. is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead Canada's Structural Engineering team, focusing on bridge and infrastructure projects. You will mentor engineers, set technical standards, and collaborate with executives to deliver complex solutions across Canada.

The role requires a P.Eng. designation or eligibility in Ontario, 8+ years of structural experience, and a proven leadership track record. Teams include engineers, EITs, and designers in a hands-on leadership environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• P.Eng. designation or eligibility for Ontario registration.
• 8+ years of structural engineering experience.
• Experience leading engineers and technical teams.
• Strong background in structural steel and infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of Structural Engineers, EITs, and Designers.
• Establish engineering standards, best practices, and quality processes.
• Build a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing engineering culture.
• Support recruitment, succession planning, and professional development.
• Act as Engineer-of-Record with technical oversight of deliverables.
• Review designs, calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with Canadian design standards and codes.
• Provide guidance on complex structural and bridge projects.
• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Manufacturing, and Project Management.
• Support planning, value engineering, estimating, and constructability reviews.
• Assist customers, consultants, contractors with technical solutions.
• Improve engineering workflows, efficiency, and execution.
• Lead process improvements and standardization initiatives.
• Evaluate new technologies and design methodologies.
• Monitor engineering KPIs and suggest improvements.
