Lycopodium is currently recruiting for an Engineering Coordinator to join our growing Engineering team in Mississauga, ON.

Reporting to the Design Manager, the Engineering Coordinator will assist in controlling the day-to-day routine activities of the engineering and drafting functions and will provide support to engineering.

The tasks you'll perform

1. Assist the Design Manager in managing the overall engineering man-hour budgets to agreed deliverable dates.
2. Assist the Design Manager in estimating engineering changes through the Engineering Change Request (ECR) procedure. Preparation and maintaining the ECR register. With a sound knowledge of the project, assist in document/design review, specifically in terms of scope definition and possible deviation that may lead to trending.
3. Identify scope variations and prepare relevant documentation accordingly.
4. Assist in managing calculation registers for all disciplines.
5. Assist the Manager of Engineering, Design Manager, or Peer reviewer in preparation of project audit documentation.
6. Assist the Design Manager in preparation of internal and client design reviews.
7. As an outcome of technical meetings, assist in preparing meeting minutes, actions lists, and decision logs. Assist in closing actions as required.
8. Assist the Design Manager in coordinating and technical interfacing with 3^rd party engineering groups such as the geotechnical consultant, mining groups, tailing storage, and others.
9. Preparation of project technical queries (TQ) to be sent to clients or other 3^rd parties.
10. Coordination of engineering design workflow and expediting closeouts of internal reviews.
11. Validate that the disciplines are providing adequate staffing, supervising personnel, and managing to the approved budget, scope, and schedule for all project design-related areas.
12. Assist in reporting progress to project controls by auditing engineering gating for earned value reporting.
13. Assist in reporting schedule progress against milestones and actuals.
14. Monitor execution of the work by the multi-disciplines in accordance with the requirements of the Project Baseline.
15. Monitor activities, deliverables, quantities, and schedule in support of bulk material tracking for all Project Area facilities.
16. Prepare and maintain the scope of Engineering/Drafting deliverables in discrete EWP developed in conjunction with project contracting strategies and design work methods.
17. Compile project reporting requirements in accordance with Company and Client standards to a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
18. Register and file all relevant project documentation in accordance with the Company approved procedures.
19. Contribute to the delivery of improvement initiatives which support business priorities for continuous improvement.
20. Proactively support other team members as required to ensure Project deliverables are met.
21. Ensure a high level of communication is attained within the engineering group.
22. Travel on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and its operations.

The expertise you'll bring

1. Engineering degree in Mechanical/Structural Engineering.
2. 5+ years’ experience in a similar role with relevant industry experience.
3. Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
4. Demonstrate an ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with colleagues across all business units.
