The Landing Gear Market division specializes in designing, qualifying, manufacturing, and repairing landing gears and critical flight components for OEMs and operators in both commercial and military sectors.

Position Summary

The Automation and Technology Manager leads manufacturing engineering and CNC programming teams, overseeing projects related to complex landing gear components and systems. Responsibilities include project management, cross-functional coordination, team mentorship, resource management, and driving technological innovations and continuous improvements on shop floors. Strong leadership, technical expertise, and experience in advanced manufacturing are essential.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage Engineering and Programming teams at Kitchener and Cambridge locations.
• Design, implement, and optimize automated systems.
• Manage new part process development and departmental budgets.
• Oversee quotation processes and lead automation/robotics steering committees.
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 standards and liaise with customers and external agencies.
• Participate in special projects, new machine acquisitions, and staff development.
• Lead technical teams, foster process improvements, and ensure safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Automation, or Manufacturing fields with a minimum of 5 years of managerial experience in CNC manufacturing, or
• Post-secondary education with 8-12 years of relevant management experience.
• Knowledge of machining techniques, industry technologies, and programming tools (e.g., CATIA, Vericut).
• Strong leadership, project management, and mentoring skills.
• Understanding of AS9100 standards and ability to work under tight deadlines.
