This is a safety-sensitive position. The successful candidate(s) will be required to complete mandatory pre-employment drug and alcohol testing to comply with SaskPower’s Fit for Duty Policy.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  1. Learn and become familiar with assigned technical tasks, methodologies, and practices.
  2. Assist in preparing project plans and monitor project costs and schedules.
  3. Provide technical assistance for construction, commissioning, and operations.
  4. Perform technical and economic analysis of alternative solutions for project business cases, and recommend courses of action.
  5. Prepare project plans, monitor costs and schedules, and initiate corrective actions as needed.
  6. Provide direction for construction and commissioning projects and initiatives.
  7. Develop criteria, guidelines, standards, and new practices based on codes, technologies, and methodologies.
  8. Guide technologists, technicians, consultants, and management staff.
  9. Coordinate with external technical agencies as required.
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Eligible for membership in the Association of Professional Engineers of Saskatchewan (APEGS).
  • Professional Engineering Designation - P. Eng., with relevant experience in planning, design, construction, operations, commissioning, and project management.
  • Demonstrated competency in engineering standards and internal processes.
  • Ability to mentor and support Engineers-In-Training.
  • Results-oriented with the ability to handle complex and confidential issues professionally.
  • Adaptable to changing environments.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, facilitation, project management, and decision-making skills.
  • Commitment to safety, innovation, and teamwork.
  • Demonstrated skills in SaskPower's core competencies.
  • Continuous professional development record.

NOTES
• Applications from Engineer-In-Training (EIT) candidates will be considered and may be aligned with EIT responsibilities until eligible for P. Eng. designation.
• A combination of relevant education and experience may also be accepted.
• Candidates may undergo assessments such as interviews, tests, case studies, or presentations.
