Job description

Engineer-in-Training - Building Science and Restoration

Specializing in structural engineering, building science, structural restoration, structural glass engineering, parking facility design and building energy modelling, RJC Engineers (RJC) is one of Canada’s leading engineering firms. Recognized as an exceptional workplace, we mentor the next generation of Canada’s ‘best and brightest’ engineers and technologists. With offices and expertise across Canada, we challenge our people to push technical boundaries and provide leadership in our fields of practice, while providing services for clients and projects nationwide

We believe in taking care of our people and help them realize their full potential. RJC offers the opportunity to work in an engaging team environment where you will work on exciting and challenging projects, discover new and developing technologies, practices and techniques and where you will flourish in a culture of continuous learning and collaboration. Working under the guidance of leading technical specialists who broadly share their expertise, you will get to fine tune your skills and cultivate your expertise while being given the opportunity to pursue your professional goals.

Why This Role?

Our Building Science and Restoration Design Engineers (EIT) are active, engaged, and valued team members. You will learn from some of the industry’s leading engineers and gain onsite experience. With a mix of office, client and site visits, you will not be sitting a desk all day!

This role provides a strong technical foundation and exposure to all aspects of structural restoration, envelope and related building science. RJC is a leader in retrofits of existing buildings for energy, carbon emissions, and durability, and is proactive in helping to advance industry standards. It is an exciting time at RJC and in our industry. We are committed to better performing buildings.

The Calgary team you’ll be part of is a energetic group where everyone is committed to helping each other succeed. Our culture is strong. It is common to become friends as well as colleagues. We have social events such at skiing, biking, golf, running, Calgary Stampede and trivia, some hosted by RJC and others organized by people just wanting to spend time outside the office together. The entire office participates in the Calgary Corporate challenge (which we’ve done for over 15 years!) It is a fun mix of everything from trivia to truck pulling! We have many charitable activities throughout the year too, donating funds and our time, collaborating as a group to help organizations like the Sonshine Centre, Ronald MacDonald House, the Alberta Tour de Cure and more!
