Job Description

IBM MQ Administrator

• Must have 7+ years experience with MQ on z / OS, Unix, Windows and iSeries platforms (non-cluster / cluster) including WebSphere MQ Cluster design
• Experience in MQ Server / MQ Client installation, configuration, applying maintenance, SSL, QSG, Clustering and administration on various platforms
• Previous upgrade experience to v7 or higher a must
• Experience on setting up MQ infrastructure for large, complex integrations on z / OS, MQ Appliances, UNIX and Windows systems
• Experience on setting up (Creation of Queue Manager, Clusters, Queues / Shared in QSG, Channels), administration, monitoring, maintenance, troubleshooting, performance tuning, Dead Letter Queue handling, including best practices, and change management : (Required)
• Advanced troubleshooting skills including MQ logs & trace files, opening IBM PMRs, collecting documentation (Must Gather), work with IBM, and drive problem resolution
• Ability to create support documentation & written procedures for routine and non-routine tasks
• Ability to coordinate MQ configuration changes, installs, & upgrades with application owners – including planning, scheduling, status reporting, & following company change control procedures
• Expert knowledge of Cobol, Rexx, JCL, SMPE, Assembler, MVS Utilities and ISPF
• Knowledge with interaction of MQ with IMS, CICS, DB2, Websphere Application Server and distributed MQ Clients
• Experience with applying MQ Appliance firmware
• Experience with assisting distributed SSL truststores, certificates, updating z / OS certs
• Provide On Call support through regular rotation
• Be highly innovative and ability to multi-task in a high paced environment a must
