Job summary

Transat seeks an Engine Director to lead a team of technical specialists in Montreal. You will oversee engine maintenance programs, coordinate with suppliers, and ensure projects align with budget and reliability goals.

You will engage with engineering and procurement to negotiate contracts and optimize engine performance, while traveling for shop visits and industry conferences as required.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Engineering.
  • 8 years of experience in engine maintenance management.
  • Membership in the Order of Engineers is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Office 365 applications.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and report KPIs for the fleet’s engines and budget.
  • Review and maintain the Engine Management Program with suppliers.
  • Maintain the GE Workscope Planning Guide for engine maintenance.
  • Develop departmental procedures in line with MCM & MPM.
  • Coordinate major technical projects and removal planning for engines.

Job Description

The Engine Director provides leadership and direction to a team of technical specialists and support staff.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor and report on all success metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the fleet’s engines as well as for the budget;
  • Review, approve, and maintain the Engine Management Program (EMP) with suppliers such as Pratt & Whitney and Rolls‑Royce;
  • Review, approve, and maintain the General Electric Workscope Planning Guide in order to maintain the CFM56‑5B engine maintenance program;
  • Contribute to the development of departmental procedures and procedures in compliance with the MCM & MPM;
  • Responsible for all modifications and standards related to engine configurations;
  • Responsible for material revisions and technical specifications for engines during their shop visits;
  • Coordinate and follow up on all major technical projects and special requirements related to removal planning as well as the induction and return of engines to lessors;
  • Prepare and explain variances in the engine maintenance budget;
  • Chair engine meetings and ensure that all necessary actions are in place to maintain and improve engine reliability in accordance with the fleet’s engine maintenance programs;
  • With the support of the Procurement Department, negotiate and manage contracts related to engine repair and overhaul facilities as well as short-, medium-, and long-term engine leasing contracts;
  • Review all existing and upcoming engine-related contracts to ensure content complies with regulations and that risk coverage is adequate;
  • Fulfill all other responsibilities described for this position in the MPM.
Qualifications
  • University degree in Engineering;
  • 8 years of relevant experience in engine maintenance management;
  • Membership in the Order of Engineers is an asset;
  • Oral and written fluency in French and English*;
  • Proficiency in Office 365 applications;
  • Ability to travel for engine shop visits and various industry conferences.
  • A good knowledge of French is required for positions in Quebec. The incumbent will be required to communicate and collaborate frequently in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues, customers, and other stakeholders in Quebec, the rest of Canada, and internationally.
