Job summary

Cineplex Entertainment in Edmonton is recruiting for a Bartender at The Rec Room West Edmonton to prepare and serve drinks, manage the bar, and ensure guest satisfaction in a fast-paced setting.

You will handle order taking, cash handling, and comply with Smart Serve requirements, while maintaining bar stock, cleanliness, and safety.

This role requires flexibility for days, evenings, weekends and holidays, with opportunities to grow within Cineplex's diverse entertainment platforms.

Qualifications

• High-School Diploma or equivalent.
• Completed bartending classes preferred.
• Minimum 1-2 years bartending.
• Current provincial Smart Serve Certification considered an asset.
• Knowledge of drink recipes.
• Ability to handle large crowds.
• Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
• Experience in all aspects of customer service and people management.

Responsibilities

• Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks.
• Wash glassware and utensils after each use.
• Pour wine and beer.
• Collect payment and operate POS.
• Serve food to guests seated at the bar.
• Check identification of guests to meet age requirements.
• Determine when a customer has had too much alcohol and arrange safe ride home.
• Clean up and maintain bar area.
• Order and maintain liquor and bar supplies.
• Arrange bottles and glasses to create displays.
• Serve guests in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Handle and move objects safely; monitor inventory.
• Refuse service and assist with taxi arrangements when needed.
