Job summary

Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Endoscopy Receptionist to provide a welcoming front-door service for outpatients, manage patient demographics, appointments and health records, and support the Endoscopy and Outpatients teams with administrative tasks.

You will use Careflow PAS to record data, handle telephone queries, and escalate complex issues to the Patient Pathway Coordinators, ensuring a smooth patient pathway and high-quality patient experience.

Qualifications

• Experience as a front-desk receptionist or admin role in healthcare is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
• Ability to manage appointments, handle queries and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Undertake reception duties and be the first face to face patient contact.
• Welcome all patients and queries with compassion and positive body language.
• Check patients demographics and contacts during all patient encounters.
• Deal with telephone queries in a welcoming but prompt manner and assist with OPD contact centre as required.
• Provide a customer focused service and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
• Book and reschedule patient appointments as per clinical outcome.
• Record data using the hospital PAS system (Careflow).
• Escalate challenging issues to the PPCs or team lead when needed.
• Ensure health records and diagnostic results are available for each patient at clinic start.
