Job Description
In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health) patient and staff safety is a priority and a responsibility shared by everyone; as such, the requirement to continuously improve quality and safety is inherent in all aspects of this position.
Working as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team in the Ambulatory Care setting and Specialty clinics or units, such as Endoscopy, Urodynamics, Minor Surgical Plastics and Cataract Sedation Nurse (as applicable to setting/site). The RN practices in accordance with the professional and practice standards and code of ethics as outlined by the BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) and applies best practices in accordance with established organizational policies, procedures, guidelines, and other controls on practice to provide competent, safe and ethical care for people and their families in a variety of ambulatory care settings.Reports to the Nurse Manager, Department Head, or designate and acts in accordance with the unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, Canadian Nurses Association (CNA) Code of Ethics for Nursing and the BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia
Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant. Basic Cardiac Life Support, Level C.
