Job summary

Leads Employment Services is seeking an Employment Specialist to support individuals with visible and non-visible disabilities or barriers in achieving and maintaining employment across Southwestern Ontario. You will manage outreach to employers, assist job seekers, assess needs and connect participants with appropriate supports.

The role requires an undergraduate degree or diploma in Business, Social Services or Education with at least three years of related experience, willingness to travel,

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate or higher in Business/Social Services/Human Services/Education or related field with at least 3 years' related experience.
  • Willingness to work varying hours including overtime.
  • Must provide in-person and some virtual services across Stratford, Huron Perth and Bruce Grey counties; redeployment as needed.
  • Reliable vehicle with business insurance for outreach travel; valid driver’s license.
  • Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check current.
  • Bilingual in French or other languages is an asset.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and assist individuals with employment development and skill-building.
  • Outreach to employers to promote opportunities and to job seekers and community.
  • Provide on/off-site support to improve job retention and accommodations where needed.
  • Maintain communication with employers, clients, advocates and community partners.
  • Document efficiently with high level of accuracy.

Requirements – you must have:
  • An undergraduate degree, graduate degree or Community College diploma in Business/Social Services /Human Services/Education or relevant field of study and a minimum of three years’ experience in a related Business/Social Services /Human Services/Education or relevant sector.
  • Flexibility to work hours to accommodate clients’ needs which may result in overtime.
  • Must be able to provide in-person and some virtual services in Stratford, Huron Perth and Bruce Grey counties . Redeployment to the outside of Stratford, Huron and Perth counties as needed.
  • A reliable vehicle with insurance coverage for business travel is essential for outreach service throughout Stratford, Huron, Perth and Bruce Grey counties.
  • Valid Driver’s license.
  • A current satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Criminal Check is required.
  • Bilingual in French or other languages would be an asset.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • First Aid and CPR certification is an asset and may be required, as applicable per program requirements.

Leads offers competitive salary packages, an incredible work environment, and career advancement opportunities. Full time salary ranges from $50,000 annually, immediate Employee Assistance Program and supplementary Health and Dental benefits with completion of six months’ service. Travel reimbursement $0.64/KM.
