Reporting to the Clerk, the Clerk Assistant provides administrative, legislative and customer service support to the Clerk’s Department. This position assists with Council, Committee and Board meeting preparation, records management, public notices, licensing, election administration, correspondence, research, and general departmental coordination. The role is intended to support the statutory responsibilities of the Clerk and does not independently exercise the statutory authority of the Clerk or Deputy Clerk. Work involves frequent interaction with members of the public, Council, municipal departments, other municipalities, and external agencies, while maintaining a high level of confidentiality, accuracy, professionalism, and discretion.
