Job summary

Newcomer Women's Services Toronto is seeking an Employment Counselor for the BuildHERFuture project. This full-time, in-person role focuses on welcoming job seekers and guiding them through tailored action plans and job search activities.

You will conduct eligibility assessments, deliver workshops, provide coaching, and build relationships with employers and community partners to connect clients with opportunities across Ontario.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or 5 years direct work experience in career counselling.
• Minimum 3 years of case management experience.
• Experience coaching clients with barriers and building employer partnerships.
• Knowledge of Employment Ontario and the construction sector is valuable.
• Willingness to travel across Ontario and work evenings/weekends as required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct eligibility assessments and develop individualized action plans for job seekers.
• Deliver end-to-end employment services, including job readiness workshops, one-on-one coaching, and referrals to resources.
• Manage a caseload of approximately 200 clients using CRM and case management systems.
• Provide comprehensive case management and development of personalized employment plans.
• Support clients in identifying strengths and addressing barriers to employment and retention.
• Conduct follow-ups to ensure progress and provide additional support as needed.
• Facilitate workshops to prepare clients for job search, interviews and workplace integration.
• Meet monthly and yearly performance targets and maintain records of activities performed.
