Parkin Architects Limited is seeking a Junior Architectural Technologist to join our architectural team in Toronto. The successful candidate will support the development and delivery of architectural projects by preparing drawings, coordinating project information, and contributing to construction documents.

This position is well suited to an emerging architectural professional looking to develop technical skills and gain practical experience in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Architectural Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
• 1–3 years of experience in an architectural/engineering environment is an asset.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Knowledge of BIM workflows and architectural documentation.
• Understanding of architectural construction methods, materials, and detailing.
• Familiarity with Canadian building codes and standards is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate technical documentation.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist architects and senior technologists with development of drawings.
• Prepare and modify plans, elevations, sections, details, and construction drawings using AutoCAD, Revit, or other BIM/CAD software.
• Prepare construction documents, drawing sets, schedules, specifications, and project documentation.
• Interpret designs and translate concepts into accurate technical drawings.
• Assist with BIM modelling and maintain BIM models.
• Coordinate drawings with structural, mechanical, electrical, and other consultants.
• Participate in design development and technical coordination meetings.
• Assist with site measurements, surveys, and documentation of existing conditions when required.
• Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Incorporate comments from project architects and clients.
• Research applicable building codes, standards, and construction requirements.
• Maintain organized project files, drawings, models, and documentation.
• Support project teams through design, documentation, and construction phases.
