Job summary

Tahir Medix Staffing is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) for Queens General Hospital in Liverpool, Nova Scotia. This 8-week travel assignment offers $100-$110 per hour plus travel and accommodation allowance.

Active NS RN license and 1 year ER experience required; rural ED experience is a plus. You will triage, deliver direct patient care in a high-acuity setting, perform point-of-care tests, administer medications per protocols, and document care per NSHA guidelines

Qualifications

• Active RN license in Nova Scotia.
• Minimum one year of emergency department experience.
• Mandatory certifications: BLS, ACLS, CTAS.

Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in a high-acuity emergency setting.
• Assess, triage, and manage trauma and acute medical cases.
• Perform point-of-care lab testing and administer medications per unit protocols.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure effective patient care.

Position Overview
Tahir Medix Staffing is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide essential care in the Emergency Department at Queens General Hospital. This opportunity is ideal for RNs looking for a flexible travel assignment in a rural healthcare setting.
Hospital Overview

• 12-care space emergency department serving patients of all ages.
  


• Core staffing per shift: Three RNs and one LPN, with an additional CCA on day shifts to assist admitted patients awaiting transfer.
  

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care in a high-acuity emergency setting.
  


• Assess, triage, and manage a variety of patient conditions, including trauma and acute medical cases.
  


• Perform point-of-care lab testing and administer medications per unit protocols.
  


• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure effective patient care.
  


• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient progress in accordance with Nova Scotia Health Authority guidelines.
  

Qualifications

• Active RN License in Nova Scotia
  


• Minimum one year of recent emergency department experience
  


• Mandatory certifications: BLS, ACLS, CTAS
  


• Preferred certifications: TNCC, ENPC, PALS, NRP
  


• Proficiency in IV initiation and IV medication administration
  


• Strong clinical judgment and ability to work effectively under pressure
  


• Experience in rural emergency care settings is an asset
