Job summary

Source Code is seeking a skilled Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a travel contract in Nova Scotia. You will provide high-acuity nurse care across NSHA Emergency Departments, handling trauma and medical emergencies, triage, and urgent stabilization in fast-paced settings.

The role values prior NSHA experience, CTAS proficiency, and current BLS. You will coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and support rapid response initiatives across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department experience.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Active registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN).
• BLS — Level C (Health Care Provider) Certification current.
• RN post-entry competencies: venipuncture, CVAD care, PICC line care, direct IV medication administration.
• Must read, write, and speak fluent English.
• Legal right to work in Canada.
• CTAS triage competency—strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and direct overall nursing care for assigned patients.
• Provide clinical leadership in complex or unpredictable patient care settings.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to achieve patient and family outcomes.
• Administer medications, including IV medications, per hospital formulary.
• Complete all required documentation by end of shift.
• Comply with site-specific policies and emergency codes.

Role Summary:
Provide emergency nursing care in NSHA Emergency Departments across Nova Scotia. You will manage a high-acuity, fast-paced patient caseload including trauma, medical emergencies, acute presentations, and triage.

Must-Haves:

Key Responsibilities:
