Job summary

Peterborough Regional Health Centre in Peterborough, Ontario, seeks a Physician Assistant for the dynamic Emergency Department on a temporary fixed-term basis. This full-time role supports rapid assessment and patient care in a high-acuity setting.

You will work under supervision of the attending Emergency Physician, performing assessments, diagnoses and treatments, and helping improve patient flow and length of stay with evidence-based practices.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an Accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Registration with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario.
• Certified by NCCPA or PACCC or eligible to be certified by PACCC.
• Minimum 2 years of PA experience is an asset.
• ACLS and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, treat, monitor, and disposition patients in the Emergency Department.
• Support timely assessment and diagnostic workups to improve patient flow.
• Contribute to quality improvement, patient safety, and operational initiatives.
• Coordinate with an interdisciplinary team under physician supervision.
