Job summary

North Bay Regional Health Centre's Emergency Department operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and is supported by a multidisciplinary team including registered nurses, respiratory therapists, social services, crisis intervention, orthopedic technicians and other health care professionals. Required are current RN registration in good standing, BLS, ACLS (within 2 years), and relevant certifications.

Experience on medical/surgical units and in emergency care is expected; bilingual English/French

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• BLS for Health Care Providers (within 12 months).
• ACLS certificate within 2 years.
• Coronary Care or Lead II/12 Lead course completed.
• 2–3 years of Medical or Surgical Unit experience.
• 1–2 years Emergency experience in last 2–3 years.
• CTAS certification is an asset.
• Courses in Trauma/NALS/PALS preferred.
• Ability to obtain added nursing skills for Emergency by end of orientation.
