Job summary

North Bay Regional Health Centre in North Bay, Ontario, is seeking a registered nurse to join the Emergency Department. The role requires current College of Nurses of Ontario registration in good standing, BLS within the last 12 months, and ACLS within the past two years.

The candidate should have 2–3 years in a Medical/Surgical unit and 1–2 years in Emergency care, with CTAS and mental health nursing experience considered assets.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration – College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate for Health Care Providers (HCP) within last 12 months
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate within 2 years
• Coronary Care Course (min. 25 hrs.) or Lead II/12 Lead Interpretation Course (min. 25 hrs.)
• Minimum 2–3 years’ experience on a Medical or Surgical Unit
• Minimum 1–2 years’ Emergency experience (within last 2–3 years)
• CTAS Certification is an asset
• Experience in Mental Health Nursing is an asset
• Courses in TNCC, PALS, Emergency Nursing Certification preferred
• Must obtain certification of added nursing skills and delegated medical acts to Emergency by end of orientation: Cardioversion/defibrillation; External pacemaker
