The University of Wisconsin-Madison is seeking an ECC Veterinary Nurse Trainer to support operations in their veterinary care units. UW Veterinary Care (UWVC) is excited to welcome a ECC Veterinary Nurse Trainer to their growing team! This position is responsible for supporting operations of UW Veterinary Care (UWVC) Emergency & Critical Care (ECC) and Intermediate Care Ward (IMCW) units. Incumbent will be expected to onboard and train new veterinary staff (CVTs and vet assistants) on basic skills for success in the ECC and IMCW, as well as assisting with hands-on patient care in the small animal hospital.

A minimum of 5 years experience as a certified veterinary technician required. Past experience with training/teaching is strongly desired. Requires the ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. independently and physical and manual dexterity to perform specialized technical tasks.

Regularly scheduled weekday hours within 9:00am-10:00pm
Three-to-five-day work week possible based on candidates preference. Some weekend hours will be required. Schedule subject to change based on department need and candidate availability.

It is anticipated this position requires work be performed in-person, onsite, at a designated campus work location.

Sign-on Bonus of 5% of base pay (based on FTE) to be paid over the first year of employment! (Minimum of $1,800+)
