Jamesway, based in Cambridge, Ontario, seeks a Junior Software Engineer with expertise in PCB programming to design, program, and integrate embedded control systems for industrial equipment. You'll collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and software teams to deliver high-performance automation solutions, including real-time firmware and hardware validation.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechatronics, or related field with 2+ years of experience.

Responsibilities

Develop C, C++, and C# code for microcontrollers and embedded systems.
Write and optimize firmware for real-time industrial control applications.
Configure and fine-tune control algorithms (e.g., PID).
Work with electrical engineers to design and validate PCB layouts for industrial systems.
Program and test microcontrollers, sensors, and actuators.
Develop interfaces for SCADA, PLCs, and HMIs.
Implement industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, CAN, Ethernet/IP, PROFINET.
Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in PCB-controlled systems.
Conduct functional and performance testing for reliability and compliance.
Provide technical support to manufacturing and field service teams.
Create detailed software design descriptions, test procedures, and system diagrams.
Maintain version control using Git or similar tools.
Ensure designs meet industry safety and regulatory standards.
Analyze system performance and propose enhancements for efficiency.
Research and recommend new technologies for PCB-based control applications.
Participate in DFM and DFT reviews.
