We are hiring an Embedded Linux Field Engineer for Devices/IoT to expand our presence in industries like Automotive, Medical Devices, Industrial Systems, Robotics, and Telco, as well as Consumer Electronics. Candidates should be Linux experts, proficient in OS internals, containerization, and debugging, with experience in low-level Linux boot, BIOS, firmware, and embedded software development. This role offers an exciting opportunity for passionate technologists who thrive in diverse client engagements and fast-paced environments.
Our Ubuntu server edition is widely used in connected devices and industrial PCs. Ubuntu Core, our IoT edition, emphasizes security and resilience for high-end appliances. We serve global brands in electronics, automotive, and robotics, and are expanding our offerings with real-time Linux capabilities and certifications. Our portfolio aims for Linux to be reliable, secure, and developer-friendly.
This role requires a blend of skills: strong Linux knowledge, coding and scripting proficiency, and experience with embedded Linux development methodologies. Candidates should be result-oriented, team players, and eager to learn. Willingness to travel up to 30% is required, especially for customer meetings, events, and conferences. For Japan and Korea, professional language skills in the local language are necessary.
