Job summary

Mycionics Inc in Kitchener, ON is seeking an Embedded Firmware Engineer to bridge hardware and software on our STM32-based control boards. You will develop low-level C/C++ firmware, implement drivers, and interface with sensors and actuators.

You will work with RTOS (FreeRTOS), read datasheets, migrate legacy libraries to HAL, and diagnose issues with GDB, J-Link, and oscilloscopes. Collaboration across hardware, software, and AI teams is essential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of embedded firmware experience; 5+ years preferred.
• Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• Strong C proficiency and RTOS expertise.
• Ability to read datasheets and translate hardware specs into reliable code.

Responsibilities

• Develop low-level C/C++ firmware and drivers for STM32 boards.
• Interface with encoders, sensors, and peripherals via I2C/SPI/CAN/Ethernet.
• Use FreeRTOS to manage resources, tasks, and interrupts.
• Diagnose hardware and software faults using GDB, J-Link, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
• Migrate legacy STM32 Standard Peripheral Library to HAL-based libraries.
