Job summary

Mycionics Inc. seeks a highly collaborative C++ Software Engineer to design high-level software architecture for robotic systems. You will glue firmware, software, and AI components, linking algorithms with hardware interfaces to form robust, modular solutions.

Reporting to Software Engineering Lead, you will focus on architectural decisions, code quality, and scalable design patterns, avoiding a shift into ML or hardware development. Located in Kitchener, ON with a strong mechatronics focus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of industrial software development experience.
• Degree in Software Engineering or CS or equivalent.
• Proficient in modern C++.
• Experience with VS Code and memory/performance debugging tools (Valgrind, GDB).
• Familiar with Jira for project management.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement high-level software clients linking system components, algorithms, and hardware interfaces.
• Contribute to nodal software architecture for cross-nodal, in-process, and network communication.
• Develop architecture features and protocols for error management, fault recovery, and state handling.
• Apply OOP, SOLID, and design patterns for modular, maintainable codebase.
• Leverage modern C++ features to maximize performance and efficiency.
• Collaborate with Software Lead to refine system architecture and solutions.
