Job summary

Wasauksing First Nation seeks a Teacher to provide an educational, supportive and holistic atmosphere aligned with Ontario curriculum to foster intellectual, emotional, physical, and spiritual growth.

Responsibilities include planning and delivering instruction, assessing student progress, developing IEPs, and collaborating with staff to promote a strong cultural identity and lifelong learning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree, required.
  • Bachelor of Education or equivalent, required.
  • Basic qualifications (Primary, Junior, Intermediate, or Senior), required.
  • Ability to speak, read and understand Anishnaabemowin (Ojibway Language) is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Model professional and ethical standards per OCT when engaging with students, parents, peers and community.
  • Attend professional meetings, conferences and workshops to enhance growth and development.
  • Plan and implement instructional objectives aligned with curriculum policies.
  • Develop IEPs and participate in IPRC processes.
  • Observe, evaluate, and report on student performance and development.
  • Maintain accurate student records and prepare reports for administration.
  • Collaborate with staff and provide leadership where needed.
