Job summary

British Columbia Public School Employers' Association | Make a Future - Careers in BC Education is seeking an Elementary Intermediate Teacher for Carson Elementary School (Grade 4-5), 1.0 FTE, from Sept 21, 2026 to June 30, 2027.

The successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be in good standing with the BC Ministry of Education, with Elementary Education specialization at the Intermediate level and recent experience teaching there.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid BC Teaching Certificate and be in good standing with the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch.
• Elementary Education specialization at the Intermediate level.
• Recent successful experience teaching at the Intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with professional staff to implement the School Growth Plan.
• Work as part of the school-based team to support school initiatives.
• Support the school-wide Positive Behaviour Support (PBIS) program and environmental initiatives.
• Commitment to addressing classroom and school-wide behaviour constructively.

Job description

POSITION: Elementary Intermediate Teacher - temporary

ASSIGNMENT: Grade 4-5

FTE: 1.0

LOCATION: Carson Elementary School

EFFECTIVE DATES: Commencing September 21, 2026 until June 30, 2027

Basic Qualifications: A successful candidate will hold a valid BC Teaching Certificate and be a member in good standing in the BC Ministry of Education, Teacher Regulation Branch AND possess one or more of the following:

Training Specialization: ElementaryEducation with specialization at theIntermediate level

Related Teaching Experience: Recent successful experience teaching at theIntermediate level

A Reasonable Expectation: based on a teacher's skills, abilities, professional development, and overall classroom teaching experience, that the teacher will be able to perform the duties in a successful manner in collaboration with other professional staff.

The annual salary for the full-time Teacher ranges from $64,901 to $116,190 with placement on the range based on length of service with qualifications in accordance with the collective agreement. We also offer a competitive benefits package and pension.
