Actalent seeks a skilled Technician for remote control assembly in Port Coquitlam, BC. You will read schematics, test PCBs, perform soldering, and assemble mechanical and electromechanical parts for industrial remote controls.

The role involves wiring, troubleshooting, and quality inspections with minimal supervision. The position is a 4-month contract, onsite in Port Coquitlam, with pay between $22.00 and $27.00 per hour.

• Basic understanding of electronics or electrical systems required.

Job Title: Technician - Remote Control Assembly

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented technician to assemble and test remote control units used in various industrial applications. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, can read and interpret schematic diagrams, troubleshoot issues, perform precise soldering and assembly, and deliver high-quality work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams with guidance.
• Read PCB designs and test PCBs.
• Perform basic soldering of electronic components, primarily through-hole with some surface mount.
• Assemble mechanical and electromechanical parts accurately and consistently.
• Perform wiring and cable assembly tasks such as routing and fastening.
• Identify and report assembly issues or errors during the build process.
• Inspect completed assemblies for workmanship and basic functionality.

Essential Skills

• Basic understanding of electronics or electrical systems.
• Experience working with Altium.
• Experience with spectrum analyzers.
• Ability to read schematic diagrams or willingness to learn.
• Soldering skills or hands-on experience with soldering tools.
• Good attention to detail and ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Working knowledge of Syteline/SAP ERP system.
• Proficiency in using electronics troubleshooting tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and PCB testing equipment.

Work Environment

The work environment involves working with various tools such as wire strippers, wire and lug crimpers, connector insertion and extraction tools, and soldering systems. The role requires close attention to detail and the ability to perform tasks accurately and consistently

4-month contract opportunity with an immediate start date. Seeking a professional who can quickly integrate into the team, contribute from day one, and support key project deliverables in a fast-paced environment.

This is a Contract position based out of Port Coquitlam, BC.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
