Job summary

STRIVE Recruitment’s client, a well-established international electronics manufacturer, seeks an Electronics Manufacturing Engineering Manager in Burnaby, BC. You will lead a nine-person team, oversee manufacturing processes, NPI, efficiency, and continuous improvement on the production floor.

The role blends technical leadership with people management, customer collaboration, and hands-on problem solving on PCB/PCBA SMT lines.

Qualifications

• Degree or diploma in Electronics/Manufacturing or related discipline; equivalent experience considered.
• Minimum 5 years electronics manufacturing experience, ideally within an EMS environment.
• At least 2 years of formal people-management experience.
• Strong SMT and PCB/PCBA manufacturing knowledge.
• Experience with NPI, manufacturing process development, and production launches.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, MES, PLM, or ERP is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of approximately nine Manufacturing Engineering professionals.
• Oversee engineering activities, resource allocation, and manufacturing support across production operations.
• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI), including manufacturing readiness, process development, and production launches.
• Provide technical oversight across SMT, PCB/PCBA assembly, and related manufacturing processes.
• Translate customer drawings, specifications, and requirements into practical manufacturing solutions.
• Collaborate with Operations, Process Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve production challenges.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on OEE, downtime, productivity, and manufacturing costs.
• Support improvements to manufacturing processes, tooling, equipment, and automation.
• Partner with customers to address technical challenges and improve product manufacturability.
