Electronics Engineer - Richmond, BC

Company Overview: Cooledge is leading a revolution in lighting technology with innovative flexible LED light sheets and large-scale luminous ceilings. We serve a global market through direct sales, distribution partners, and manufacturer’s representatives.

Position Overview: We are seeking an Electronics Engineer to join our Electrical Team. The role involves expanding our product roadmap, supporting current technologies, and developing lighting control solutions. Knowledge of lighting control protocols (e.g., 0-10V, Dali, DMX, Bluetooth) and PCB design skills are essential.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Support legacy product designs, BOM updates, and engineering change orders.
• Support maintenance of line (MOL), troubleshoot products, and perform failure analysis.
• Source and evaluate control interfaces, drivers, and components.
• Write test specifications, perform verification testing, and analyze data.
• Design and develop lighting control solutions at system level.
• Design electronics for prototypes and production, including schematics and PCB layouts.
• Support firmware development and assembly/testing of prototypes.
• Provide technical support to installation and sales teams.
• Execute experiments for process and product development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 1+ years’ experience; Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or similar; new graduates considered.
• Experience with analog/digital prototyping, troubleshooting, and lab equipment.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer for schematic capture and PCB layout.
• Firmware programming experience with 32-bit RISC microcontrollers.
• Hands-on prototyping and soldering skills.
• Experience with electronics production, part sourcing, and component evaluation.
• Knowledge of AC/DC power supplies and LED drivers is a plus.
• Lighting controls or communication networking experience is an asset.
• Familiarity with Arena PLM, EMI/EMC testing, and safety certifications is beneficial.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; detail-oriented and team player.
