Job summary

Woodward Canada Inc. is seeking manufacturing personnel to support transfer and closure activities through August 2027. You will join the Manufacturing Department, contributing to automated and manual assembly of electronic circuit boards and related modules.

The role covers SMT pick & place, AOI, soldering, wiring, and mechanical assembly, with strict adherence to drawings, IPC standards, and Lean practices. A strong focus on accuracy and teamwork is required in a unionized environment.

Qualifications

Grade 12 or equivalent.
Experience in electronics manufacturing; familiarity with IPC-A-610 & J-STD-001 asset.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, parts lists and related documentation.
Proficiency with MS Office Suite and ERP software.
Ability to lift 60 lbs.

Responsibilities

Automated and manual assembly of electronic circuit boards to drawings and standards.
Setup and operation of precision production equipment including SMT Pick & Place, AOI, Reflow Oven, Selective Solder, Board Wash, and dispensers.
Post insert hand soldering and rework of non-conforming assemblies.
Apply conformal coating, adhesives and other chemicals as required.
Mechanical assembly of end units to drawings using hand tools.
Inspect assemblies for conformance to drawings and standards.
Referencing drawings and parts lists to verify parts.
Adhere to procedures and lean manufacturing principles; escalate deviations.
Enter labour and other data into ERP systems and tracking databases.
Work independently and as a team to meet department KPIs.
