Job summary

Woodward, Inc. in Peterborough, Ontario, is seeking a Manufacturing Operator for the second shift to support site closure through August 2027. You will work across assembly, quality control, SMT, soldering, wiring, and repair activities.

You will read drawings, operate precision equipment, ensure conformance to IPC standards, document labour data in the ERP, and contribute to Lean initiatives while meeting KPI targets.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing; IPC-A-610 & J-STD-001 familiarity considered an asset.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and parts lists.
• Accuracy and attention to detail.
• Experience with precision automated equipment preferred.
• Computer skills in MS Office Suite and ERP software.

Responsibilities

• Automated and manual assembly of electronic circuit boards to drawings and standards.
• Setup and operation of SMT/precision production equipment (e.g., SMT Pick & Place, AOI, Reflow, Selective Solder).
• Post insert hand soldering and rework of non-conforming assemblies.
• Apply conformal coating, adhesives, and other chemicals.
• Mechanical assembly of end units using hand tools.
• Inspect assemblies for conformity to drawings and standards.
• Refer to drawings/parts lists to obtain correct components.
• Enter labour data and other data into ERP; support Lean manufacturing and KPI targets.

## Manufacturing Operator - Second ShiftApply: Peterborough, Ontario, Canada: Full time: Posted 2 Days Ago: JR113540This position is a full-time position to help with the transfer of work for site closure in August 2027.The incumbent will work within the Manufacturing Department in the following functional areas as assigned by the Supervisor: Assembly, Quality Control, Soldering, Wiring, Surface Mount Technology, Repair & Overhaul.
