Roles and Responsibilities

We are seeking a temporary Electronic Technician to join our team. Reporting to the Receiver Line Production Supervisor in our Fish Tracking division, the Electronic Technician must have a strong problem-solving aptitude and work well within a team environment. The Electronic Technician will build product and support Receiver Line staff as they assemble and test Innovasea products used in fish tracking applications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide support to the Receiver Line, including hands-on technical support in a fast-paced electronics manufacturing environment.
  • Repair jigs and fixtures quickly.
  • Collaborate with the Technical Writer to develop and review production manuals and SOPs.
  • Build receiver products, cables, and assemblies.
  • Perform PCB testing and troubleshooting as required.
  • Help develop and validate new processes.
  • Review orders prior to shipping and assist with pressure testing and incoming inspection of PCBs, machined parts, and other assemblies.
  • Assist with single-piece part flow manufacturing and review ‘Bill of Materials’ and drawings to ensure inventory accuracy.
  • Identify areas for improvement such as cost reductions, capacity increases, 5S/organization, quality improvements, inventory reduction, etc.
  • Support the movement of new products into the receiver line in collaboration with Production Engineering.
  • Follow safety best practices and ensure safety is integrated into standard procedures and equipment.
  • Investigate and resolve production issues involving parts, processes, and equipment, including data collection, root cause analysis, and non-conforming product investigation.
  • Participate in new product/process trials and qualifications, document using JIRA and Confluence, and assist with QA testing programs.
  • Initiate continuous improvement projects and process changes.
What We’re Looking For
  • Experience in electronic manufacturing or electronic design.
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and strong writing skills.
  • Strong soldering ability with surface mount components.
  • Ability to read and understand electronics schematics.
