Job summary

Davwire is seeking an Electromechanical Technician to assemble wire harnesses and electromechanical assemblies in a controlled manufacturing environment. You will follow engineering drawings, perform cutting, crimping, soldering, and routing, and ensure accurate traceability and documentation.

The role requires adherence to ISO/AS9100 quality standards, involvement in testing and inspections, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

  • Electronic Technician Diploma or similar post-secondary designation.
  • Experience with military-style circular electrical connectors (D38999 / MIL-DTL-5015).
  • Ability to obtain Controlled Goods Clearance per DAVWIRE's Security Plan.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble wire harnesses and electromechanical assemblies per drawings and BOM.
  • Perform wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, and routing using approved tools.
  • Install connectors, hardware, and shielding per specs.
  • Maintain traceability and production records.
  • Support testing and inspections; participate in audits.
  • Report nonconforming material and inspect accordingly.

Job description

The Electromechanical Technician is responsible for the assembly, routing, termination, and inspection of wire harnesses and electromechanical assemblies. This role requires strict adherence to ISO/AS9100 quality standards, engineering documentation, and workmanship requirements to ensure product safety, reliability, quality, and full traceability.

Job Duties

Assembly & Manufacturing

  • Assemble wire harnesses and electromechanical assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, schematics, work instructions, and bills of material
  • Perform wire cutting, stripping, crimping, soldering, terminating, and routing using approved tools and processes
  • Install connectors, contacts, hardware, shielding, and mechanical components
  • Perform cable lacing, tie-wrap installation, heat shrink application, and labeling per specifications.

Quality & Compliance

  • Follow all ISO 9001/AS9100 procedures, work instructions, and quality requirements
  • Ensure part number, revision, and lot traceability throughout the assembly process
  • Perform in-process self-inspection and peer inspection as requiredIdentify and report nonconforming material, workmanship defects, or documentation issues
  • Maintain accurate production records and travelers
  • Perform continuity and basic electrical testing as required
  • Support functional testing and final inspection activities
  • Verify assemblies meet customer, regulatory, and internal specifications
  • Accurately complete production documentation and electronic records
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action activities when required
  • Support internal, customer, and third-party audits
Qualifications
  • Electronic Technician Diploma or similar post-secondary designation
  • Practical experience working with military-style circular electrical connectors (such as D38999 or MIL-DTL-5015), commonly used in aerospace and defense equipment.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain the Controlled Goods Clearance in accordance with DAVWIRE's Security Plan.
Skills & Experience
  • 1-5 years of experience assembling wire harnesses and/or electromechanical assemblies in a regulated manufacturing environment or aircraft modification facility preferred
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 certification (or ability to obtain) preferred
  • Strong attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Proficient in the use of hand tools, crimp tools, and measuring equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong commitment to quality, safety, and compliance
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, wiring diagrams and work instructions
  • Able to locate and analyze complex production problems
  • Able to use test equipment to verify products
  • Able to organize tasks and effectively communicate directions to others.
  • Able to interpret and follow procedures, processes, and quality specifications.
