Job summary

Jobtailor in Montreal, QC seeks an experienced assembler to join its workshop team. The role focuses on mechanical and electrical assembly from drawings and CAD models, prototyping for R&D, and building/control panels for systems integration.

You will fabricate cable assemblies, route cables, and perform light machining while ensuring quality and safety. Strong communication and teamwork are essential in this client-facing environment.

Qualifications

• College diploma or vocational diploma in electromechanics, mechanics, manufacturing, or a related field; or 10+ years of relevant professional experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on mechanical and/or electrical assembly experience in a professional setting.
• Valid driver’s licence.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and work safely in a workshop environment.
• Strong fine-motor skills and manual dexterity.
• Ability to assemble systems from drawings, schematics, and work instructions.
• Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and measurement instruments.
• Experience with fabrication methods (soldering, brazing, machining, sheet-metal) is an asset.
• Experience assembling high-vacuum or cryogenic systems is an asset.
• Willingness to learn new skills; strong problem-solving and team communication.

• Assemble mechanical systems and structures based on technical drawings and 3D CAD models.
• Assemble and install prototypes to support R&D activities.
• Build electrical power distribution panels and electromechanical control panels.
• Fabricate cable assemblies and wire harnesses to required specifications.
• Route, organize, and secure cables for durability, reliability, and neatness.

• Participate in the installation and commissioning of systems at client sites.
