Job summary

Solventum is seeking a Maintenance Technician/Technologist to support production operations in a medical device environment at our onsite facility in Morden, MB. You will troubleshoot electro-mechanical equipment, maintain maintenance records, and contribute to safe, compliant manufacturing practices.

This role offers a rotating shift and starting pay of CAD 73,000 per year, with opportunities for continuous improvement and reliability enhancements aligned with GMP and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology.
• 3+ years of mechanical or electrical industrial experience.
• Must reside near Morden, MB or plan relocation prior to hire.

Responsibilities

• Support production equipment in a medical device environment.
• Troubleshoot and repair electro/mechanical equipment failures.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation.
• Work proactively to ensure production performance targets are met.
• Drive continuous improvement projects to improve OEE.
• Assist in developing plans to correct equipment deficiencies and determine long-term solutions to improve reliability.
• Schedule and perform preventative maintenance procedures to ensure proper operation.
• Ensure Good Manufacturing Practices & Good Documentation Practices are followed.
• Support Engineering projects and lead actions assigned to the maintenance group.
• Communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

The impact you’ll make in this role

As a Maintenance Technician/Technologist, you’ll be responsible for supporting production operations, ensuring quality standards, and contributing to a safe and efficient plant environment.

This role works a rotating shift and includes starting pay of $73,000/year.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

• Supporting production equipment in a medical device healthcare environment.
• Troubleshooting and repairing electro/mechanical equipment failures.
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date maintenance documentation.
• Working proactively to ensure production performance targets are met.
• Focusing on Continuous Improvement projects to drive improvements in OEE.
• Assisting in developing plans to correct equipment deficiencies and determining long-term solutions for equipment issues to improve reliability.
• Scheduling and performing preventative maintenance procedures to ensure proper operation.
• Ensuring that Good Manufacturing Practices & Good Documentation Practices are followed.
• Supporting Engineering projects and leading actions assigned to the maintenance group.
• Possessing the ability to clearly speak, understand, and write in English to communicate effectively in both verbal and written contexts.

Required Qualifications:

• Certificate/Diploma in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Technology field OR a High School Diploma/GED or higher AND three (3) or more years of mechanical or electrical experience in an industrial environment.
• Must reside near Morden, MB or have confirmed plans to relocate prior to hire

Nice to Have Qualifications:

• Flexibility to work different shift patterns as the business requires.
• Eligible for registration with CTTAM as a Technician or Technologist.
• Experience troubleshooting and repairing motors, pumps, web handling systems, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, drive systems and related components, valves, brakes, etc.
• Demonstrated proficiency working with equipment such as AC/DC motors, servo systems, PLCs, robotics, vision systems, sensors, etc.
• Demonstrated high level of technical ability.
• Strong technical communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong troubleshooting / problem solving skills.
• Strong organization and time management skills.
• Proficient in using the Microsoft suite of products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
