Job summary

MDA in Quebec, a prominent space and aerospace innovator, seeks an assembler to build electromechanical products. You will prepare components, tin parts, and manually assemble TH and SMT components on PCBs while operating automated equipment.

You will also bond with polymeric materials, install cables, and integrate modules and boards. Successful candidates bring a diploma in electromechanical fields or equivalent, 2–5 years’ experience, knowledge of IPC‑A‑610, and basic data entry skills;

  • Diploma in electromechanical, mechanical, aeronautical or equivalent.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of tolerances and geometric dimensions.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare components.

  • Operate and adjust automated inspection and assembly equipment.

  • Install cables.

  • Support Research and Development.
  • All other related tasks.

Role

Perform assembly of electromechanical products

Level of Responsibility

Structured work processes. Some analysis is required before independently selecting from known processes.

Responsibilities/Tasks
  • Prepare components.
  • Proceed with tinning of components.
  • Manually assemble through hole (TH) and surface mount technology (SMT) components on printed circuit boards.
  • Operate and adjust automated inspection and assembly equipment.
  • Prepare, handle and use polymeric products for component bonding.
  • Install cables.
  • Mechanically integrate modules, flex and printed circuit boards.
  • Inspect, check and validate compliance of certain tasks performed by colleagues.
  • Support Research and Development.
  • All other related tasks.
Minimum Qualifications
  • College diploma or secondary school vocational diploma in one of the following fields: electromechanical, mechanical, aeronautical or equivalent.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic knowledge of the principle of tolerances and geometrical dimensions.
  • Knowledge of standards IPC-A-610
  • Ability to recover and enter data with a computer system.
  • Use of production databases.
  • Good knowledge of French. Basic knowledge of English is an asset (Contact with customers outside Quebec).
Comments/Special Considerations

Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP).
