Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) seeks Electrician Apprentice & Journeypersons for Fort Saskatchewan, AB. You will support electrical installations, read blueprints, and ensure safety while building critical infrastructure. Strong safety culture and teamwork are essential.

Position requires provincial certification or active apprenticeship, English fluency, and ability to work in a fast-paced industrial setting. Competitive hourly rate and overtime per collective agreement.

Qualifications

• Provincial journeyperson ticket or in an apprenticeship program as required.
• CSTS-20 Certificate or equivalent safety training.
• Fall Protection training completed in class.
• Mobile Elevated Work Platform training completed in class.
• Experience as an Electrician in an industrial construction environment.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg and work in various weather conditions.
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Responsibilities

• Fabricate control panels, wiring check-out.
• Install cable tray, conduit, and equipment.
• Layout circuits and install breaker panels, lighting and fixtures.
• Ensure electrical installations follow regulations and trade practices.
• Install, repair and maintain electrical equipment for safe operation.
• Read drawings, circuits and electrical codes to plan wiring layouts.
• Mentor apprentices and oversee safety on site.

Position Overview

Aecon Construction Solutions Inc. (ACSI) is a multi-disciplined construction company offering superior civil, electrical and mechanical services including piping, insulation, scaffolding, and module fabrication. We’re always on the search for exceptional craft candidates to fill our ever‑expanding project portfolios. We are focused on hiring only those exceptional individuals who value safety in the workplace and remain committed to the collective goal of maintaining our Aecon ‘zero injury’ culture. ACSI is seeking Electrician Apprentice & Journeypersons who will be integral to our project’s success, responsible for providing support and in-depth knowledge in the field relating to electrical matters, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications to lay out work. Your expertise will support a range of activities which are critical to integrity of the electrical systems of the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Fabricate control panels, wiring check‑out.
• In stalling cable tray and conduit and terminating cable. Locating and installing equipment, panels, sensors and other control components and devices
• Responsible for laying out circuits, set up breaker panels and junction boxes, and install light fixtures and other electrical equipment.
• Ensure all electrical installations follow applicable regulations and trade practices.
• Install, alter, repair and maintain a wide range of electrical equipment for safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation.
• Pull wire through conduits and cables through tray systems.
• Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations.
• Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits.
• Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment.
• Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels.
• Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, and if need be, replacing or repair following proper installation guidelines.
• Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.

Requirements And Experience

• Valid Provincial Journeyperson Ticket or indentured in a Provincial apprenticeship program.
• CSTS-20 Certificate
• Fall Protection – In Class
• Mobile Elevated Work Platform – In Class
• Experience as an Electrician in an industrial construction environment.
• Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
• Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.
• Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.

Location: Fort Saskatchewan AB

Rate: $52.00/hr

Overtime: as per collective agreement

Schedule: 5x2, 4-10s, 1-8hr day, 6am start
