Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. in Saskatchewan is seeking Electrician Journeypersons for our industrial construction projects, including the BHP Wet Mill Jansen Potash Mine. You will read blueprints, lay out wiring, install panels, and ensure safe, compliant electrical installations on site.

We require a Red Seal Journeyperson ticket, CSTS-20, Fall Protection, and MEWP training, with experience in industrial environments. You’ll mentor apprentices and work 14x7 shifts at our Jansen camp setup.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as Electrician in industrial construction settings.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical drawings.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to project procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Install cable tray, conduit, and terminate cables.
  • Fabricate control panels and perform wiring checks.
  • Set up breaker panels, junction boxes, and lighting installations.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and trade practices.
  • Maintain and repair electrical equipment for reliable operation.
  • Interpret drawings and wiring diagrams to plan layouts.
  • Mentor apprentices and oversee safety on site.

Position Overview

ACSI is a multi-disciplined construction company offering superior civil, electrical and mechanical services including piping, insulation, scaffolding, and module fabrication. We’re always on the search for exceptional craft candidates to fill our ever-expanding project portfolios. We are focused on hiring only those exceptional individuals who value safety in the workplace and remain committed to the collective goal of maintaining our Aecon 'zero injury' culture. ACSI is seeking Electrician Journeypersons who will be integral to our project’s success, responsible for providing support and in-depth knowledge in the field relating to electrical matters, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications to lay out work. Your expertise will support a range of activities which are critical to integrity of the electrical systems of the project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Installing cable tray and conduit and terminating cable. Locating and installing equipment, panels, sensors and other control components and devices.
  • Fabricate control panels, wiring check-out.
  • Responsible for laying out circuits, set up breaker panels and junction boxes, and install light fixtures and other electrical equipment.
  • Ensure all electrical installations follow applicable regulations and trade practices.
  • Install, alter, repair and maintain a wide range of electrical equipment for safe, efficient and environmentally sound operation.
  • Pull wire through conduits and cables through tray systems.
  • Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations.
  • Splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits.
  • Install brackets and hangers to support electrical equipment.
  • Install, replace and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays and circuit breaker panels.
  • Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, and if need be, replacing or repair following proper installation guidelines.
  • Journeyperson will mentor apprentices respectfully and oversee their safety.
Requirements And Experience
  • Valid RED SEAL Journeyperson Ticket
  • CSTS-20 Certificate
  • Fall Protection - In Class
  • Mobile Elevated Work Platform - In Class
  • Experience as an Electrician in an industrial construction environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a part of a team in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to lift and work with materials weighing up to 25kg.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions and environments.
  • Must have a strong understanding of industrial safety procedures and policies.
  • Must be fluent in English, both written and verbal.
Project: BHP Wet Mill SMPEI JANSEN POTASH MINE
Location: Leroy, Sk
Rate: $50.00 per hour
Overtime: as per collective agreement
Schedule: 14x7
Camp: yes, Jansen Discovery Lodge.
Allowances: yes travel, based on proof of residency. Fly into Saskatoon aiport, bus to camp.
