Job summary

Sandvik Mining in Winnipeg, Manitoba is seeking an Electrician to troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical and electrical systems on mining equipment. The role requires reading diagrams, diagnosing faults and performing electrical repairs in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates hold a Certified Electrician license, 2–5 years' experience, and can work legally in Canada. Sandvik offers a competitive benefits package, development opportunities and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

  • Must be a certified Electrician with valid license.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in mining equipment is preferred.
  • Strong ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.

Responsibilities

  • Follows scopes of work to meet established delivery targets.
  • Install high/low voltage assemblies into mobile equipment
  • Inspects equipment for proper performance and determines faults and malfunctions.
  • Adjust equipment & repair/replace defective parts components or systems according to scopes of work.
  • Identifies additional repairs, compiles parts and labor estimates and communicates to supervisor.
  • Tests repaired equipment to ensure proper operation
  • Completes accurate time records, technical reports, failure reports, parts listings and submits drawing revisions.
  • Actively participates in continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stays current with industry, customer, product developments and technical best practices.

What you will bring along
  • Certified Electrician license
  • 2 to 5 years’ experience
  • Previous experience on Sandvik equipment considered an asset
  • Highly proficient reading of electrical diagrams
  • Demonstrated ability to diagnose and resolve problems and perform electrical repairs on mining equipment
  • Communication skills, both oral and writtenComputer skills (MS Office suite)
  • Valid driver's license with reliable vehicle
  • Must be able to work legally in Canada
